Ever since I was a young girl, I felt the need to ease suffering in those around me. I knew that the world of psychology and social work was the path for me. I went through the formal educational system and earned my Bachelors and Masters degree in Psychology and Social Work. During my graduate program, I became fascinated by alternative healing modalities that focus on balancing the mind, body, and spirit. I decided to learn as much as I could about Tai Chi, Mindfulness, Meditation, Yoga, and Life Coaching.
My personal battle with overcoming cancer and other physical ailments drove me to discover the dire need to take care of myself while I cared for others. Paving my own path as an entrepreneur in the field of health and healing was the only way I could find balance with my ability to thrive in this work. Mindfulness and mind/body healing modalities gave me the tools I needed to heal myself, and sharing them with others is the greatest gift I can give with my time here on this earth. Time is the only true gift we have and spending it daily to support others on their life’s journey is the only path I want to continue to walk upon.
In my 19 years of service in the health and human services field, I have discovered that I absolutely love teaching and coaching! The core of my offerings begins with my skills as a teacher and a counselor. In all the work that I do, I find that I can best support others with my compassion as a counselor coupled with my experiences as a teacher and group facilitator. This combination provides quite a safe, supportive and empowering experience.
I focus much of my healing work on supporting women and men to slow down, relax, manage stress better and heal health conditions they may be facing. The core of my work rests upon people feeling empowered and balanced in their daily living. Oh and I do believe that "comic relief" is essential to living an enjoyable life, especially during life as we know it now! Stay tuned for comic relief moments from "Oushalunga"!
