I have to admit, I don't own a t.v. However, I do fill my online entertainment fix through windows of Netflix viewing. During my most recent "Parks and Recreation" indulgence, the slogan that was posed over and over was, "Are you better off than last year"? That's quite the powerful question! Am I better off Leslie Knope?! Well, in many ways, yes. In some other ways, I would have to say no. How would you answer?
With this recent evaluation, I realize there is a loss process that has begun to brew with the decision I have made in my heart to let go of that which is making me answer, "No, I'm not better off with this part of my life". This realization has led me to the "Fabulous Five" for direction as I move forward!
Here's the fabulous five I invite you to give a try. If you are not ready to sit with these questions yet, don't fret. Simply sign up for our Mindfulness Retreat on November 9th to give them the time and energy they deserve!
1) Who am I?
2) How did I get here?
3) What am I doing now?
4) Why am I doing it?
5) Where would I like to go with it?
As you address these questions, find your style with the answers. Journal it out, paint your pictures, sing it up, discuss with your friends, meditate on it. Whatever it takes to face the questions and allow clarity to arise. Move through any fears of changes that may need to occur. It's all a part of the growth process. Being able to let go of what no longer serves your highest good and/or the highest good of your community is more than worth it.
